Harrison and Cassidy had GREAT soccer coaches this year. Harrison was coached by Sam and Peggy Weech and Cassidy's coach was Dave Bowman. We sure appreciated all the time they spent having weekly practices as well as coaching at each Saturday game. Not only did their soccer skills improve, but they learned how to play with a "team". Speaking of teamwork, both the BLADES (Cassidy's team) and the WHITE THUNDERS (Harrisons team) went undefeated in their age divisions!
This is Cassidy warming up before her last game.
After the last game, Coach Dave had a small presentation for each child. He called them up one by one and talked of their strengths and presented them with a picture he drew of them that he made into an "award". He is a wonderful artist and has a studio here in town. Cassidy's got the "Kick Along Cassidy" award. Let me tell you, this meant a lot to her and she was one proud little girl!
Harrison's coaches also did cool things for their team. Right after their last game the kids and their families gathered in the park pavilion for a pizza party.
And, they presented each of the players with a wooden frame that had their picture on one side and the team picture on the other. Harrison has it proudly displayed in his room with his ribbon. What a fun way to end the soccer season!!
