The Big Move!

Well, it has been a week since we finished the big move. We had to be out of our last house by August 31st due to tenants moving in on September 1st. As we were gathering the few odds and ends left in the house and cleaning the fridge, our tenants began moving in. We gave them a bit of a head start on the 31st because their daughter was scheduled to have a baby the next day. Amazingly enough, between the bonus rooms and the garage, we were able to fit everything. I don't think the move by itself would have been too bad, but when you add trying to keep the house construction going, life becomes crazy. I must say, the last week of August was was exhausting! Below is a picture of the "Chuck Wagon". My parents came up on August 28th to assist with the moving process. They parked their travel trailer at the new house and got right to work. My Mom did all the cooking and took care of the kids, getting them off to school and other places they needed to be. Meanwhile, Dad helped move. I don't know what we would have done with out them. They were such a HUGE help!
On Friday (August 29) we brought our temporary residence out to the new house and "hooked up". The two weeks prior to this was a huge push to get our power, electric, water and sewer completed which kept me extremely busy, but we did it!
Another load from truck to garage. Check out the nice clean truck. We got quite a bit of rain throughout the move process, but luckily, we were always able to work between storms.
Here we are taking a break at the chuck wagon. Yum Yum. Harrison announced that it has been weeks since he has eaten such good food and he is probably right. You can only eat so much Subway and Cupidos..... :)
Things continued to progress on the house while we were moving. In the background of our meal are the vehicles of the electrician, painters and siding contractor.
The kitties are now enjoying our bed more then we are! I was worried about how they would adjust, but they are doing great!
And last but not least, the horses are temporarily living on the future arena site. We moved all the horse pens over from our last property. I swore I would never move those pens again after moving them from Queen Creek to Snowflake, but it really was not too bad because we had some help. I am hoping to get some kind of shelter for them before winter hits.
