Last Week of School

I never knew how busy a last week of school could be! Cassidy's preschool class had a performance for the parents where they sang "Fifty Nifty United States". She does know every state and will repeat them all to you if you ask her (or even if you don't). :) If I ever take the time to figure out how to put videos on my blog I will put one of her singing this song. It is so cute! So, she is now officially a "Preschool Graduate".
Harrison had a "Portfolio Day". He had a little performance where the 1st graders sang a few songs, then we got to go to the classrooms. Harrison politly invited me to sit at his desk and he showed me his portfolio which was an awesome notebook his teacher kept with math, reading and writing from beginning to end of the year. He also got an award from his principal for being the only one in his class to read over 100,000 words for AR (his actual number was 109,964). On his report card his teacher also noted that he read on a 5th grade level and that he knows 489 high frequency words. I was really proud of him and I hope his love of reading and learning continues!
This is his teacher, Mrs. Ramsay.
He has a great bunch of friends at school.....
