I AM BACK

Wow, I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted on my blog! We have so much going on and lots of news to share, but I havn't taken the time to sit down and write. I have had several comments from people wondering what has happened to me. But, I am here to say that we are alive and well in Snowflake! There are probably two main reasons why I have not posted. Reason 1: I started reading a really good book. I know that sounds like a dumb reason, but it is true. :0) Actually it is a 5 book series and each book is over 500 pages long. The series is called "Children of Promise" and it is historical fiction about World War II. I have read several non-fiction books about World War II because it interests me. But, I am getting a completely different perspective from these books because it details the feelings and personal perspectives of each of the charaters. I am now almost finished with book 5, so I should be blogging at a steady pace again in no time! Reason 2: We will be starting to build our new home soon. I began meeting with the drafter in January and after several changes and meetings later, we have finalized our house plans. On January 31, I submitted them to the Town of Snowflake to get the building permit. It looks like we will have it approved by the end of this week. We have completed the excavation of the entire 8 acres as well as had the house pad built. That has been happening over the past few weekends. In the meantime, since the plans were finalized, I have been gathering lists of sub contractors to get bids from. Anyway, it has been VERY time consuming and will continue to be until the house is completed. We hope to be all moved in before Thanksgiving. If we get our plans approved by the end of this week like we expect, we will break ground next week. So, that is the update on our life in the boondocks for now........

I love those books too. I am fascinated with WWII and the Civil War and have read both fiction and non. So if you need any more books I could maybe recommend a few. If I can remember their titles that is.
