Another fun Easter celebration in Payson has come and gone. All the usual activities took place including dying Easter eggs, taking over the Bashas food court for dinner, staying up late playing games, going to the Town of Payson's Easter egg hunt and of course Peanut Butter eggs. This year also had a few new additions. The favorite was the bottle fed baby goat that Grandpa Oakes brought with him. The not so favorite was the cold and rainy weather. Driving home we even had snow!
As some were coloring eggs, the older boys were more interested in playing capture the flag.
When I took this picture Harrison was smiling and at the same time between his teeth saying "hurry up and take the picture, Mom, you are going to give away my location!" Maybe he will be a ventriliquist when he grows up. He is such a talented young man!
The goat was a few days old and Cassidy was in heaven to have such a cute little guy attend the festivities.
Here we are at Bashas eating dinner. I think there were about 30 of us this year all converging on the Bashas Deli.
The crowd at the park for the Easter egg hunt was much smaller this year due to the weather. Courtney and Cassidy were walking out to the starting line (on the far right) planning their strategy. "Should we run out far when they say go, or just start picking up eggs where we start?"
Here is the whole crew cheering each age group on. As the drizzle continued, the kids starting wearing their Easter buckets. I thought it was going to start snowing any minute and I wished it would have. That would have been a great picture with the kids on an Easter egg hunt in the snow.

Once the Easter egg hunt is complete, the trading with cousins begins.
"What candy did you get? I will trade you my Smarties for your Tootsie Roll".
The most common trade was the girls trading little rubber space ships to the boys for their candy.

This year we stayed at the same hotel as Kim and Mickey and Grandma and Grandpa Oakes.
It sure was fun spending time with family we don't get to see very often. This is such a great opportuntiy for the kids to get to know their cousins better. Next year.....same time, same place! And maybe we will bring the baby goat. :)
