The Birthday Gang

It is hard to believe that Cassidy has turned 6 years old!! She is such a sweet little girl and we are so blessed to have her! We had a birthday party for her on her birthday (November 14th), which made the day extra special. I'll tell you what, this little girl pretty much planned her own party, then told me what we were doing. Maybe she will follow in her Mom's footsteps and get a degree in Recreation Management! The cake had horses, (is anyone surprised by this??) and she loved it. She spent much time and thought on who she was inviting because I had to regulate the amount of kids that she wanted to invite. If not, we probably would have had the whole school at our house for the party. As we waited for all the kids to arrive, we did craft projects at the kitchen table. Cassidy loves this kind of stuff and is VERY creative. I do not know where she gets it from, it certainly is not me???Next she wanted to play Frogy in the Middle. I had no idea how to play this game because she learned how to play it in her music class. But no worries, Cassidy had it under control and all I had to do was sit back and snap a few pictures. :) When I announced it was time for games, she immediately said "O.K. everybody, hold hands and get in a circle" then she proceeded to explain how to play and ran the whole game. The next game she wanted to play was "Duck, Duck, Goose". But she put her own twist on it. She called in "Turkey, Turkey, Meat" . It took a few minutes, but the kids finally remembered to get up and run when they heard the word "meat". I later asked Cassidy if she played it like that in school or something, but she said that she just made it up herself. And finally the last activity Cassidy wanted to do was have a dance. So I put on her favorite CD (ABBA) and she turned it to her favorite song, Mama Mia. Yes, it was FUN. It was a perfect opportunity for my video camera, but I was not prepared with it. A couple of kids stood back at first but soon Cassidy had everyone out on the "dance floor". It was actually nice none of our furniture was moved in yet (we had just finished the wood floor the day before) because the empty family room made a perfect spot for dancing and playing games. I even thought that maybe I should leave out the furniture and rent out the house for parties and weddings. It really does make a great dance floor. :)The kids really worked up an appetite after all the dancing, so we continued the festivities with pizza. And of course, cake.It looks like Cassidy had a little help getting the candles blown out!And what would a birthday party be without presents. In this picture she is holding up a picture Harrison drew for her.And the whole gang...Xander Stratton, Harrison, Colby Lyman, Kaelynn Hipps, Braelyn Brimhall, Brooke Chlarson, Kaitlyn Crosby, Cassidy and Riley Crosby.

Hi Laurie! I heard all these details from the girls, they had so much fun at Cassidy's birthday party! They loved looking at these pictures. Glad we found your blog. I especially love that you got that motel room. I would have done the same thing! I LOVE your house, I'm so glad for you that you finally are in.

Wow! what a creative wonderful 6 year old! It is great that they can be so Independant but at the same time that scares us a little. She looks like she had such a fun day! Ruth just turned 5 - I can't imagine another year having such a funfilled night. I think I'll start when they are 8 having the invite your friend over parties - right now we just do fmaily parties with my siblings and their kids. You both did a great job - I love the dancing photo shot from up above and the one in a circle holding hands.
