Well, let me answer your question. Besides getting Harrison off to school in the morning, to piano lessons every Tuesday, 2 baseball games per week, carpooling with two other Moms to get Cassidy and her 3 cute little friends to preschool twice a week, coordinating play days with her friends, hauling Bart (Cassidy's pony) and Scooby to the arena to ride after preschool, building a house, attempting to manage our 4 rental properties in the valley and taking care of animals......here are a few of my extra curricular activities.......
1. I went on my first cattle drive! I have always wanted to work on a ranch and I finally got my chance. We moved a few hundred cows several miles from one location to another. It took us about 5 hours and was awesome! I know not everyone would have enjoyed it.....but I was born with love for this in my veins. The dust from the cows, chasing the uncooperative, tying my cowboy hat on as tight as possible so the wind wouldn't carry it away, the intense sun giving me a dark farmers tan, the smell of the animals, the far open range......I loved every aspect of it and can't wait to go back.
2. Rodeo Drill Team. I tried out for the Rodeo Drill Team last week and was excited to find out that I made it! I am riding Scooby (I wrote about him in one of my first blogs...he is the horse that walked in our house trying to get life cereal) and so far he is doing great. We had our first practice this week and started to learn the new drill pattern. We will be performing at several rodeos and riding in parades this summer. If you don't know what a rodeo drill team is, check out this website. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXCqSZ1pSc0
3. Volleyball. I have written before about volleyball and how much fun I have had playing every week. The season just ended, which is good timing for drill team starting, and our team did great in the tournament. We actually took second place in our division. The team we had to play for the finals had not lost yet in the tournament, so we had to beat them twice. We won the first match in two games, but lost the second match in 3 games. We were a little disappointed not to win first, but I think we did great because this was our first season playing together. We still won shirts for second but don't get our teams picture in the paper. :)
So, now your question is answered. This is what I do in my small town. No, I am NOT bored at all!!
