A couple days ago there was a bald eagle hanging out near the house for a couple hours. I think he lives in the tall trees by the creek in front of our house because that is where he eventually flew to. Every time I tried to get close to get a good picture, he would fly away and circle the sky until I backed off. You can't see any details, but if you look near the small brown dumpster next to the house, you see a brown blob. That is him just starting to take off to fly so his wings are stretched high. I wished I had a better camera to zoom in more because it was really cool to watch him. The kids also thought it was great. Unfortunatly, he wasn't there to survey the house progress, there was a dead cat in the field that he was hauling off.
Poor Cassidy is so excited to get a couple cats when we move, but I don't think they will last long in this area with the coyotes and huge birds (we see many white tailed hawks, too). I guess that is just part of life in the country.
