Pot of Gold
In Cassidy's preschool class they have been talking about St. Patricks Day. Her homework assignment is to make a trap to catch a Leprechaun and then they have to explain how it works to the rest of the class at the St. Patricks Day party. She really thinks she has a good chance of catching one and of course she would get the pot of gold to go along with it. She told me the other day that she is going to have a lot of money soon and she will be able to buy anything she wants. Then she said "Do you know what I am going to buy, Mom?" I said "No, what?" Of course, I was thinking of all these extravagant things that cost all kinds of money that she might want to buy. But no, she said "I am going to buy a kitten". Well, that pulled on my heart strings because I know how she feels! She has been begging us for a kitten ever since our cat disappeared in December. I told her that we need to wait until we move into the new house. In order to get her to quit talking about it one day, I told her that if we wait we can get 2 kittens. Well now I feel guilty because she wants a kitten so bad that she is going to spend her whole "pot of gold" on it! I have a strange feeling that soon we will have a kitten joining our family, even without catching a Leprechaun.
