Visitors........

A couple weeks ago a couple horses wandered on to the property for a visit. They were very friendly and Cassidy decided that maybe they would never get claimed and she could just keep them! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! We kept them in the round pen where they could be seen from the road and I was just sure someone would panic and come looking for them. Meanwhile, Cassidy continued to bundle up and go visit them. They loved to see her come because she usually had a carrot or some kind of treat to feed them. By the next morning, I began to wonder why no one had come. I began to get worrried because by this time, Cassidy had named them both. I started calling a few of the neighbors, but no one seemed to know who they belonged to. I started having these terrible thoughts that someone had just dumped them off to a nice looking "new home" and had nightmares of what it would cost to feed 2 MORE horses if they were there for any extended period of time. My neighbor called the Sherriffs Department for me to see if anyone had reported missing horses, but they had not heard a thing.

Finally, three days after they arrived, I came home to a note stuffed in my door. The horses owner noticed them in the round pen and wanted to come pick them up with her horse trailer when I got home. I breathed a huge sigh of relief and called her immediately. They had come about a mile down the road and were kept in a 5 acre pasture filled with cedar trees. The owner didn't miss them right away because she always doesn't see them due to the large pasture and cedars.

Of course, Cassidy cried when they left, but we planned to go on a ride soon and visit them. :) Never a dull moment in the Boondocks!!
