I made mention earlier of a few reasons why I have not been a consistent blogger in the past couple months. One of the main reasons listed was the start of our construction project. In December, we had a backhoe out to the property to remove all the cedar trees. This was origanally a hard decision for us because we wanted to keep just a few of them. Once we got them out and saw how much better the property looked, we had no regrets. We figure now we can plant the trees we want on the property right where we want them. Anyway, the tree cleared area in the photo is a portion of our property.
The middle of January, we met with the excavators, our good friends Jeff and Jeramy Brimhall. We staked out the house pad, barn pad, roads, arena, pasture, etc.
And by the beggining of February, boy did our 8 acres look different. They moved TONS of dirt (literally).
It is hard to tell in this picture, but the house pad starts to the left of the picture at the top of the little "bank" you see.
On the far right of this picture you can see Jeff's little blue tractor. It looked like a toy working with the big ones.
