What would a trip to Maryland be without hanging out together at the barn! So, we had a girls night out horseback riding with Jill,
Scotia, and
Lenox. Cassidy and I were both in heaven! Jill had a couple riding lessons to teach, so we hung out until they were finished and then we all rode. This is Snowman, the pony
Cassidy rode. Jill is the Riding Director for
Calleva, which is an outdoor adventure company. They have programs that include activities such as summer camp where kids can sail, climb, bike, kayak, raft, fish, surf, and horseback ride. They have snow clubs, leadership training for corporations and schools, parties, a

ropes course and more. Since I am a Recreation Major and worked in Parks and Recreation for 12 years, I love hearing about the program and what they offer. I even got to go to a planning meeting with Jill while I was there and meet the other program directors. It was really fun (for a Recreation professional), of course. :0)
Scotia,
Dain,
Lenox and
Calum go to the summer program each year. Jill and Dan's property adjoins the
Calleva property. Jill designed this barn for
Calleva which she can use any time and that is where we rode. The barn has a riding arena, stalls, bleachers, heated classrooms/observation areas overlooking the arena, tack rooms, hay storage, and grooming stalls. I wanted to take pictures of
Scotia and
Lenox riding, but I ran out of batteries in my camera. Cassidy had an ear to ear smile the whole night. For those of you that don't know, she has been diagnosed with O.C.E.A.N. Syndrome (Obsessive Compulsive Equine Attachment Neurosis). It is a disease she gets from her mother! :0) We cope well most of the time as long as we get our Equine Neurosis medication........

I am so sorry to hear about Cassidy's case of O.C.E.A.N!! That's terrible. It runs in our family too and it is very expensive and time consuming to treat. :( I hear it is chronic and that there is no cure.
I'll have to meet that Jill lady one day. She sounds awesome!!!
