First Day of School

Well, we survived Harrison's first day of being at school all day long! I sure was wondering how he was doing all day! He was so excited to go especially because last week he received in the mail a post card with a handwritten note from his new teacher. Sunday night, he had his clothes and back pack all set out and ready to go. He also insisted on having his own alarm clock. Monday morning when his alarm went off he got up and dressed all on his own. He had scrambled eggs (his favorite breakfast) and after a few "first day of school pictures" he was on his way. School starts at 8:00 a.m. so Jeff drops him off on his way to work then he rides the bus home.

Of course, Cassidy was pretty excited too. She had realized several days ago that she would have Mom all to herself during the day. So, she had a full day planned. Some of her ideas included going riding, painting rocks, playing games and going out to lunch. She told me all about her plans Sunday night as she was going to bed. Although her day did not go as planned, we still had fun. It began with going to my physical therapy in Show Low. I took off the windows of the jeep because it was a beautiful day with clear blue skies. We love riding in the open air jeep! On our way to physical therapy, one of Cassidy's flip flops flew out the window. We were on a busy highway so I knew it wasn't worth stopping for.......but we sure did have a good laugh!! :) After physical therapy, we decided to hit the Walmart to buy some new shoes. As soon as we went in, we heard a loud crack of thunder and a couple minutes later it started POURING rain. That was the fastest Walmart trip ever because of the windows in the jeep being down! Once we left Showlow, the rain let up a bit making it fun to drive in without getting us too wet since we did not have windows.

Meanwhile, Harrison was having a fun first day at school. He met new friends and loved his teacher. He decided that the cafeteria was more like a restaurant and the first thing he wanted me to do when he got home was read him the menu. Then he went through and circled the days he wanted to buy his lunch rather then take it. I can't believe the choices these kids get these days!

Today was his second day of school and it was even more exciting because he lost his first tooth. He has been wiggling it for a few weeks and finally he said it just popped out. His teacher gave him a little treasure chest to put it in. I guess tonight the Tooth Fairy will be coming. :)
